Your Adventure, Our Responsibility

Dune bashing looks wild from the passenger seat, and that is the point — but nothing about it is improvised. This page explains exactly how a BashDubai desert safari is operated: the vehicles we use, who drives them, how convoys are managed in the Lahbab and Al Marmoom dune belts, and the rules that decide when we shorten or reschedule a trip.

If you are travelling with young children, an older parent, a back or neck condition, or you are simply nervous about the dunes, tell us at booking. We will note it on the manifest and your driver will adapt the drive — or we will move you to a camel ride and camp-only itinerary that skips the dune session entirely.

RTA-Certified Vehicles

All 4x4s undergo monthly inspections and meet Dubai RTA standards.

Experienced Drivers

Every driver has 10+ years of dune driving experience.

First Aid On Board

Every tour carries a stocked first-aid kit and trained staff.

Insurance Included

Full passenger insurance included with every booking.

Before you leave your hotel

  • • Eat something light. Dune bashing on a very full stomach is the most common cause of motion sickness on our trips.
  • • Wear closed shoes and loose clothing, and bring a layer for after sunset between November and March.
  • • Keep your phone and camera in a zipped bag or pouch during the dune session — loose items travel across the cabin.
  • • Tell your driver before the drive starts if you want it gentler. Mid-session is fine too; just say so.
  • • Carry any personal medication (inhalers, EpiPens, insulin) with you rather than leaving it at the hotel.

Who should skip the dune session

Dune bashing involves sustained lateral movement and short drops. We do not recommend it for pregnant guests, people recovering from spinal or neck injuries, guests with heart conditions, or infants under three years old. Everyone else in your group can still ride while you meet them at the camp — ask us and we will arrange a direct camp transfer at no extra cost.
