Hatta Dam and the Wadi Hub, in practical detail
Hatta Dam is a narrow turquoise reservoir wedged between grey mountain walls about 90 minutes from Dubai. Kayaks, pedal boats and donut boats launch from a jetty on the near shore, and the paddle upstream to the far wall and back takes most people forty to fifty minutes. Next door, Hatta Wadi Hub adds mountain biking trails, a zip line, axe throwing and a freefall slide, sold separately by the hour. The water is calm and shallow near the launch, and buoyancy aids are mandatory for every paddler including strong swimmers.
