Add-ons worth booking, and ones you can skip

Worth it: a photographer for the golden hour, falconry with a handler, and a private table set apart from the main camp for a proposal or anniversary. Usually not worth it: extra activity add-ons stacked into the same evening, because the sunset window is short and rushing between them undoes the point of paying for a private evening. Cakes, live oud or violin, floral decor and colour themes need 48 hours notice so the camp team can set up before you arrive.

Booking notes for the premium option

Private vehicles are limited, so weekend and holiday evenings between December and February are typically booked out one to two weeks ahead. Groups larger than six run as multiple private vehicles in one convoy, keeping the majlis section exclusive to your party. Confirm dietary needs and any mobility or medical considerations at booking, not on the day, so we can assign the right driver, the right dune route and the right seating.

Inside the Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve

Unlike public dune safaris on the Dubai–Al Ain road, our luxury experience operates inside the DDCR — a 225 km² protected wildlife reserve where only a handful of licensed operators are permitted. You'll share the dunes with Arabian oryx, sand gazelle and desert foxes rather than dozens of other 4x4s. Wildlife-first driving standards mean no aggressive dune bashing inside the reserve — the drama here is the landscape, the silence and the sunset.

Vintage 1950s Land Rover heritage drive

For guests who want more than a modern 4x4, we offer a restored 1950s Series 1 Land Rover — the same vehicle the original Bedouin guides and early oil-era explorers used to cross these dunes.
